Sunny Point RV Park, situated near the west shore of Point Roberts offers a unique camping experience. A secure enclave bordered by Boundary Bay on the east, South Beach on the south, the Strait Of Georgia on the west and the international border (49th parallel) between Canada and the United States on the north-we offer a truly “gated community”.
The approximate 5 square miles of the “Point” offers a panoramic view of the Rocky Mountain range to the north and east, Vancouver Island to the west with the south east sky-line highlighted by magnificent Mount Baker.
Spend a night at Sunny Point and you will be treated to peace and quiet. At night you may be serenaded by a family of coyotes out for their nightly hunt. Deer, squirrels and raccoon are constant guests with eagles always looking for little critters. The loudest sounds you hear in the morning will be the many bird songs. The aroma that tantalizes you will be the Arabica organic coffee from the Point Roberts Coffee Roasting Company.
Nestle in the trees and hibernate with your own fire-ring and picnic table. You can also join the friendly group around the community fire and be regaled with stories by our 91 year old ex-fireman from Oregon. You can hear the stories of our resident fishing expert who will show photos of the big ones that DIDN’T get away. Like the 39 pound salmon caught last season. Also, our Canadian family from British Columbia, Alberta and all points east can keep you entertained till all the stars are out in all their glory.
Point Roberts Marina Resort offers a full range of services for your dingy or 50 foot yacht. If golfing is your choice the 18 hole Point Roberts Golf & Country Club is about a mile away. If you arrive with your big rig and no extra wheels, the friendly manager may even loan you his Oldsmobile. Vancouver, B.C. is just a half hour away offering an international array of fine dining, Stanley Park and many other attractions.
Sunny Point is aptly named-with an annual rainfall of approximately 30 inches-about half that of Vancouver or Seattle.
